Books and pigs and stuff

The last few weeks, and the next few months, are going to be particularly busy ones.
Yay! I'd rather be busy than bored, hadn't you?
Here are a few updates about what I'm doing and what's going on in my little corner of the world.

Harlequin's So You Think You Can Write 2012 Contest

I didn't enter this contest, but I'm really enjoying reading the entries. Here you'll find first chapters from, I think, about four hundred authors. I love this contest because it's a great way to discover new-to-you authors and a wonderful way to meet and make new writing friends, especially if you're a fan of category romance. Plus, you get to cast one vote per day for your favorite(s). So much!
Are you participating? Share your link in the comments section below so I can read your entry, please.

No Bigger Risk

I'm finishing up my novella No Bigger Risk and hope to have it submitted by Oct. 12. For any of you who read No Sweeter Love and remember Jolene, the town mayor and diner owner, this is her story. If you haven't read No Sweeter Love yet, may I suggest to you try it? ; )

What I'm reading

My e-reader is loaded, people. Loaded. Here are a few books I recently purchased and am especially excited about. Links will take you to Goodreads, if you feel the need to click and add to your virtual bookshelves. Have you read them yet? What do you think?

Jennifer Probst -- The Marriage Trap

Christine Bell -- Down for the Count

Sylvia Day -- Reflected in You (Crossfire, 2)

Savvy Authors NaNo Boot Camp -- Entangled Smack Down!

I'm registered for the Brazen team. I've never done NaNo so I'm really excited and this sounds like a great opportunity to learn and grow as a writer and to meet some wonderful editors and authors. I think registration is filling up fast, so click here to find out more information or to register for one of Entangled Publishing's category lines.

Too strange not to share

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you've probably already seen this. Mr. Pig, one of my neighbor's pets, greeted me when I walked outside on the first day of October.
At first I was shocked. I squealed. He squealed. We shared a moment. He ended up rooting though my trash and taking a nap in my yard for most of the day. I think he likes it  here.

So, what's going on with you? What are your plans this month?
